MicroSystems Lab (µSL) is an interdisciplinary research facility at the School of Computer & Systems Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, dedicated to the development of microsystems and advanced sensing technologies. The laboratory's research spans MEMS, RF-MEMS, BioMEMS, wireless sensors, Internet of Things (IoT), polymer-based technologies and triboelectric energy harvesting.
The laboratory works across the complete research cycle, including device design, electromagnetic simulation, fabrication, characterization, and experimental validation. Current research includes microwave biosensors, label-free sensing, RF and microwave devices, IoT-enabled sensing systems, polymer MEMS, and triboelectric energy harvesters, with an emphasis on cost-effective and application-oriented technologies.

Design and development of low-power wireless sensor systems for real-time sensing, monitoring, and distributed data acquisition applications.
Internet of Things (IoT)
Connected sensing and embedded systems for intelligent monitoring, data acquisition, edge computing, and reliable machine-to-machine communication.

Microelectromechanical systems for miniaturized sensing, actuation, and integrated microsystems with applications in biomedical, industrial, and smart-device technologies.
RF MEMS
RF microelectromechanical systems for high-performance switching, tuning, filtering, and reconfigurable wireless communication and microwave applications.

Microelectromechanical and microfluidic technologies for biomedical sensing, diagnostics, lab-on-chip systems, and healthcare applications.
Polymer Technologies
Development and application of functional polymers and polymer-based materials for flexible electronics, sensors, microdevices, and advanced energy-related technologies.
Triboelectric Energy Harvesters
Development of triboelectric energy harvesting systems that convert mechanical motion, vibration, and human activity into electrical energy for self-powered electronic devices.
